Leonardtown, MD — North Point traveled to Leonardtown on Friday to take on the Raiders in their Southern Maryland Athletic Conference (SMAC) opener. The Raiders tried to keep pace, but their leading scorer Sam Sweet was shut out in the quarter. Other players had to show up, and senior Trey Moore did his best. He finished with 11 points.
In the third quarter, North Point turned up the pressure on their full court press defense, and the Raiders couldnโt adjust fast enough. The Raiders offense was only able to muster six points, while the Eagles scorers began to bully the Raiders defense. Senior center Malik Brown put up 12 of his 17 points in the quarter, and the Eagles lead stood at 60-35.
