ST. MARY’S COUNTY, Md. – The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Warning in effect until 2 PM today. One to two feet of tidal flooding is possible in low-lying areas, especially around high tide.

Coastal Flood Warning for St. Mary’s County

WHAT:
One to two feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas due to tidal flooding.

WHERE:
Shoreline in St. Mary’s County.

WHEN:
Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon, especially around the time of high tide.

IMPACTS:

  • At 3.5 feet, water covers roads on Saint George Island, enters yards, and approaches structures.
  • Inundation is occurring at multiple marinas off St. Mary’s River, Smith Creek, and Jutland Creek.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • Tides up to 3 feet above normal are expected.
  • The next high tides are as follows:
    • Coltons Point: 9:51 AM
    • Piney Point: 9:15 AM
    • Point Lookout: 8:22 AM
