Over the past three weeks, the Patuxent High School NJROTC cadets participated in a ‘Change a Life’ coin drive. The cadets that number 143 total, were encouraged to take part in raising change for the SMILE food pantry this holiday season. Students were only to bring in loose change….no checks, dollar bills, etc. Some students emptied out their coin jars at home, raided their parents’ pockets and skipped that extra snack at lunch to help change the life of someone in our community. When the final amounts were tallied, the unit raised a grand total of $773 dollars. Many families in our local area will benefit greatly from our change and our cadets realized they all have the ability to change a life!!! The NJROTC Booster club will sponsor a pizza lunch for the class that raised the most money.
