LUSBY, Md. — Friends and neighbors are coming together to support the family of Jeffrey Glacken, the 54-year-old Lusby man who was killed Sunday, Sept. 14, in a motorcycle crash in Prince George’s County.
Glacken died after his motorcycle collided with an SUV on Cedarville Road in Brandywine, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department. The driver of the SUV survived with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, and investigators continue to examine the cause of the collision.
In the wake of his death, Glacken’s daughter, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Glacken, 22, and her 2-year-old son, Eugene, are facing the sudden loss of the man who anchored their household. Lizzie and her son lived with Glacken, who was both her employer and her closest support.
A GoFundMe campaign launched this week is seeking to raise $14,000 to help cover living expenses, legal costs tied to estate matters, and to ensure stability for young Eugene. As of Tuesday afternoon, more than $1,200 had been donated.
According to the GoFundMe page, Glacken was “their rock, their provider, their everything,” and his absence has left Lizzie “facing the overwhelming task of managing the emotional loss, legal responsibilities, and financial challenges of caring for herself and her child on her own.”
Organizers said donations will go toward household bills, legal counsel and providing a stable home for Eugene. “It’s not easy to ask for help, but right now, Lizzie and Eugene truly need a community around them,” the page states.
Family friends Emalee Bundy and Nicole Wildberger are listed as contacts for anyone wishing to provide additional support.
