SUNDERLAND, Md. — A recent $2,500 donation from All Saints Episcopal Church in Sunderland is highlighting the growing sense of community support behind the mission of Calvert Safe Housing Network, an organization dedicated to assisting individuals and families in need of safe housing.

Representatives from both organizations gathered for a check presentation, marking what leaders describe as more than a financial contribution, but a reflection of a broader community effort to support survivors and strengthen connections across Calvert County.

“This moment really represents the kind of community we are building,” organizers shared, emphasizing the importance of local partnerships in addressing housing insecurity and supporting vulnerable residents.

Calvert Safe Housing Network works to provide resources, advocacy and support for individuals and families facing unsafe or unstable living situations. Through collaboration with local organizations, faith groups and residents, the network aims to create a safer, more responsive system of care throughout the county.

The donation from All Saints Episcopal Church is part of a growing trend of grassroots support, as community members continue stepping forward to contribute time, resources and awareness to the cause.

In addition to financial support, Calvert Safe Housing Network is actively seeking volunteers to assist with its hotline services. The organization will host a volunteer training session June 6 and 7 for those interested in getting involved.

Officials say volunteers play a critical role in connecting individuals in crisis with the help they need, often serving as the first point of contact for those seeking assistance.

Anyone interested in volunteering, or in need of services, can visit www.calvertsafehousingnetwork.org or email info@calvertsafehousing.org for more information.

As community partnerships continue to grow, organizers say moments like the recent donation serve as a reminder that meaningful change often begins at the local level — with neighbors supporting neighbors.
