ย ย ย  At 10:58 p.m. May 6, TFC L. Nims of the Leonardtown Trooper barrack observed a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of a private driveway on Mrytle Point Road in California.

As he approached, the driver attempted to leave. The driver was stopped and identified as Frederick William Smith, 45, of Lexington Park.

During a pat down, an odor of burnt marijuana was detected. Recovered from Smithโ€™s pocket was a smoking device, containing burnt marijuana, and a bag of marijuana.

Smith was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. He was taken to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.

ย ย ย  At 1 p.m. May 7, TPR Ewig of the Prince Frederick Trooper barrack stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Cox Road Huntingtown.

Upon contact with the operator, TPR Ewig detected the odor of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and 6 baggies of suspected marijuana and a CDS smoking device were recovered.

William Daniel Nelson, 29, of Prince Frederick, was arrested for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissionerโ€™s hearing.

ย ย ย  At 1:36 p.m. May 5, TFC Slifer of the Prince Frederick Trooper barrack stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Rt. 2/4 in Huntingtown.

Upon contact with the operator, TFC Slifer detected the odor of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and two baggies of suspected marijuana and a CDS smoking device were recovered.

Ashley Nicole Hollins, 21, of St. Leonard, was arrested for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, she was transported to the CCDC to await a commissionerโ€™s hearing.

ย ย ย  At 7 p.m. May 5, TPR Bigham of the Prince Frederick Trooper barrack stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Rt. 2/4 in Prince Frederick.

Upon contact with the operator, John Frederick Marshall,ย  Jr., 23, of Huntingtown, TPR Bigham detected the odor of suspected marijuana.

Aย  search was conducted and a baggie of suspected marijuana and a CDS smoking device were recovered.

Marshall was charged with possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissionerโ€™s hearing.

ย ย ย ย  At 7:15 p.m. May 5, Officer J. Kelly of the Charles County Sheriffโ€™s Office was patrolling the 11200 block of Barnswallow Place in Waldorf when he observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot.

The officer contacted the occupants of the vehicle and noticed a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The driver, Hiram Solomon Ward, III, 19, of Waldorf, was found to have a bag of marijuana in his right shoe. The passenger, Willard Omar Spigner, 19, of Fort Washington, was found to have marijuana in his right front pants pocket.

Both were arrested and are being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
