(Waldorf, MD., Jul. 8, 2017) – The Atlantic League announced Friday that Southern Maryland Blue Crabs outfielder Cory Vaughn was added to the 2017 Atlantic League Freedom Division All-Star team. He will join seven of his teammates in Somerset for the festivities, taking place July 12th at TD Bank Ballpark.
Vaughn will be heading to the All-Star game in his first season with the Blue Crabs. He joined Southern Maryland for his eighth professional season, spending six of those in the New York Mets organization. In his first season in the Atlantic League, Vaughn is currently hitting .269 with six homeruns and 31 RBI’s, while also stealing eight bases. The outfielder currently leads the Atlantic League in runs scored (47) and hit-by-pitch (7), while also ranking in the top ten in doubles (18), walks (44), and on-base percentage (.389).
