Tyson began her musical journey with the Southern Maryland Youth Orchestra and Choir, where she honed her vocal skills under the guidance of Wendy Podsednik. Additionally, she studies piano with Chiara Selby. Throughout her musical career, Tyson has participated in various choral, duet and solo concerts across Southern Maryland, earning notable opportunities to perform at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the French Embassy.

Her dedication to music has also led her to attend three two-week Summer Performing Arts sessions with Juilliard, where she further developed her talents. Tyson has shared the stage with local theater groups, including the Newtowne Players, Port Tobacco Players, Children’s Theatre of Southern Maryland, and L’Opera Comique de Washington.

The “Song & Dance” concert will feature a classical program, including Tchaikovsky’s overture from “Romeo & Juliet” and several of Brahms’ “Hungarian Dances.” Regular conductor Will Esterling will be assisted by Hunter Martin, the Leonardtown High School band director, who will conduct selections from Stravinsky’s “Firebird Suite.” Esterling, a member of the Delaware National Guard, has been in required training during January, leading to Martin’s involvement.
