At 2:12 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, TFC Trossbach was patrolling on Morganza Turner Road in Mechanicsville when he observed 1996 Ford Escort cross the center line twice.
A routine traffic stop was initiated for the traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver, Michael Darnel Thompson, 43, of Mechanicsville.
A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Further investigation revealed Mr. Thompson was in possession of a metal, homemade CDS smoking device with cocaine residue.
Mr. Thompson was arrested for DWI and possession of a CDS smoking device. He was issued a Criminal Citation for possession of a CDS smoking device.
