Daniel Alan Walsh, Sr., 76, passed away on August 26, 2026. On January 9, 1950, Daniel was born in Washington, DC, to the late Frank and Doris Walsh.

He was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. He spent more than 40 years behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer, building a career through dedication, long hours, and a strong work ethic. After decades on the road, he spent his final 25 years of employment with CVS, where he continued to give his time and talents until his well-deserved retirement. His commitment to his work was a reflection of the kind of man he wasโ€”dependable, hardworking, and always willing to do what needed to be done for the people he loved.

On June 8, 1970, Daniel tied the knot with the love of his life, Mary. Together, they were fortunate to welcome four children: Daniel Walsh, Jr. (Debbie) from Hughesville, MD; Frankie Walsh from Mechanicsville, MD; Michelle Walsh (Alexander) from Mechanicsville, MD; and Doris Underwood (David) also from Mechanicsville, MD.

When he wasnโ€™t spending time with his family, he enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a true beer drinker who never turned down a cold one, enjoyed having crabs and watching football, and had a unique talent for collecting just about anything he thought might be usefulโ€”earning him the loving reputation of being a โ€œjunk collector.โ€ He also had a special love for his bird, who was more than just a pet and held a special place in his heart. His animals brought him great joy and companionship, and he loved caring for them in his own special way.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gerald Walsh, his sister Sharon Russ, and his brothers-in-law Bobby Russ and Sidney Phifer. He is survived by his cherished wife, his children, his brother Michael Walsh (Robin) of Shadyside, MD, and his sister Lynda Phifer of Spring Hill, FL. Additionally, he leaves behind his grandchildren: Daniel Walsh III, Ernest Sigmon IV, Kayla Walsh, Isabella Sigmon, David Underwood III, Tanner Underwood, and Jett Underwood, as well as many nieces and nephews.

On Thursday, September 3, 2026, the family will receive friends for the visitation from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with the service beginning at 6:00 pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
