CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. — A man was rescued from difficult terrain Sunday evening after crashing his dirt bike and briefly losing consciousness in a wooded area off Kingston Place.
Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 4:38 p.m. on June 15, 2025, after a caller reported the rider had wrecked and was unresponsive. The man later regained consciousness but remained disoriented, prompting a coordinated rescue involving multiple agencies and off-road vehicles.
Due to the inaccessible location of the crash, specialized units, including all-terrain vehicles and rescue squads, were deployed. A concentric search pattern was established using the caller’s phone location to pinpoint the injured rider.
Medics reached the man shortly after 5 p.m. and determined he was conscious, alert to voice, and breathing. He was stabilized and loaded onto a utility terrain vehicle before being transferred to an ambulance. By 5:39 p.m., the patient was en route to UM Capital Region Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The operation involved coordination among several units, including Rescue Engine 14, Squad 10, and multiple EMS and ATV teams. Command was terminated around 5:26 p.m., and all responding units returned to service.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
