On February 27, the victim and defendant, Mary Rodriguez Perkins, 59 of Solomon’s, arrived at the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office to inquire about Protective Order procedures against one another.
Dfc. Nelson interviewed both parties. The victim stated he and Perkins were engaged in a verbal dispute over car keys in the parking lot of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Lexington Park. The victim stated the dispute escalated into an assault when Perking scratched him in the face and on the neck. The victim had visible signs on injury. Perkins stated the victim pulled her out of the driver’s seat of their vehicle. She further stated when she went to reach for the car keys the victim elbowed her. Perkins did not have any physical signs of injury.
Perkins was arrested for second-degree assault.
