CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. — The town of Chesapeake Beach has released a donation guide on its website to help community members find out where and how to donate to victims of the fire that tore through the Fishing Creek Townhomes on the morning of Nov. 17. The guide includes information on immediate donations and longer-term aid. All residents were safely evacuated.
“We are grateful to our partners — Calvert County Government, Town of North Beach, Maryland State Fire Marshal and the American Red Cross — and to the local groups and businesses who provided food, water, blankets and temporary lodging for displaced families,” the town wrote on its Facebook page, adding a note of gratitude to the community and a promise to post updates as they become available.
Monetary donations are being coordinated through Bayside Baptist Church. The complete guide can be found online.
