Dorothy Ann Knott of Mechanicsville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Prince George’s County and resided in St. Mary’s County for the last 44 years.
Dorothy is survived by her four children: Bonnie Witlow, James Boswell, Clarence Wilkinson, and Richard Wilkinson, along with their spouses. She is also remembered by her siblings, who include Patsy Tibbet, Jean Talbert, Howard Boswell, Mary Lou Bowen, and Wanda Boswell, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Knott, as well as her siblings: Sheryl Windsor, Charlie Boswell, Melvin Boswell, Joseph Boswell, Judy Tucker, and Annebelle Bradshaw.
After graduating from Sassor High School, she became a desk clerk for Cadillac Motel in Waldorf, MD. She was also a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge, where she enjoyed dancing and listening to country music.
Family and friends are welcome to join us on May 2, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, with the service beginning at 11:00 am at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.
