Update from the Charles County Sheriff’sย Office: —: ย On March 3 at approximately 12:34 p.m., officers responded to the area of Smallwood Drive at St. Nicholas Drive in Waldorf for the report of a single vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation revealed that a passenger car was travelling east on Smallwood Drive West when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a traffic light pole. Colin C. Bipat, 17, of Waldorf and Desmond L. Cooke, 17, of Waldorf, were pronounced deceased on the scene. Another passenger, Caleb F. Marshall, 18, of Waldorf, was flown to a hospital with serious injuries. Members of the Traffic Operations Unit responded and are conducting an investigation.


Update – The accident scene has been cleared and the roadway has been reopened.

Update – ย According to Charles County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Diane Richardson, the crash occurred at 12:55 pm. The vehicle went out of control and struck a light pole. Two motorists were pronounced dead on the scene, one flown out. The medical examiner is heading to the scene.


Waldorf, MD – March 3rd. 1:18 pm. ย A serious motor vehicle accident was reported in Waldorf onย Smallwood Drive Westย and Saint Patricks Drive.

Authorities have confirmed there are two fatalities at the scene.

An 18-year-old male is being transported by helicopter to an area trauma center.

Smallwood Drive West is closed between Mall Circle, and St Patrickโ€™s Drive will be shut down for approximately two hours.
