LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – A power pole replacement following earlier reports of downed power lines has left several businesses without power, including Walmart, Checkers, Wendy’s, and Applebee’s.
According to an employee at Walmart, the outage has lasted more than 90 minutes, and there is no official timeline for restoration. SMECO crews remain on-site.
Drivers should remain cautious in the area as utility work continues. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
Can’t imagine trying to replace a utility pole in these muddy, soggy, windy(!) conditions.
It was the poles in front of Blue Wind Gourmet that went down and closed their business immediately Power lines were down in their parking lot. and Poles were leaning toward the building.
