At 1 a.m. Aug 30, a motor vehicle accident was reported involving a Kia Optima.
The operator of the Optima was traveling southbound on Patuxent Beach Road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle at Patuxent Boulevard, smacking the cement barrier before being moved approximately 100 feet from the point of impact.
The driver was transported via ambulance to Medstar St. Mary’s Hospital.
