
La Plata, MD – On Friday, Sept. 11 the case involving Darren Windsor and Autumn Jenkins (pictured, left) was presented to the Grand Jury for Charles County by Corporal Justin Zimmerman of the Maryland State Police Crash Team to determine charges.
On Monday, Sept. 14, the Grand Jury/Circuit Court for Charles County issued an arrest warrant for Windsor on the following charges: negligent manslaughter by auto for the death of Autumn Jenkins, negligent homicide by auto for death of Autumn Jenkins and driving while under the influence of alcohol per se.
Winsor was taken into custody without incident shortly after 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14. Windsor was taken to the Charles County Detention Center and is awaiting a bond hearing.
The crash which claimed Jenkinsโ life occurred April 28 at approximately 9:06 p.m., on MD Route 425 south of Timโs Lane in Nanjemoy. As a result of the collision, a Jenkins was killed. The car she was driving was struck head-on by another vehicle, driven by Windsor.
Jenkins, 20, of Nanjemoy was pronounced dead on the collision scene. She was a five-year fire fighter/EMT member of the Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Department.
