GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Nearly three months after an early morning shooting left an 18-year-old man dead in a quiet Glen Burnie neighborhood, Anne Arundel County Police have arrested a teenage suspect in connection with the homicide.
Authorities announced Tuesday that Mactouko Ryan, 17, of Elkridge, was taken into custody on July 22, 2025, and charged as an adult with the murder of Jonathan Guiliani. The arrest marks a significant development in a case that has remained active since officers first responded to the 800 block of Aquahart Road on May 4.
Police were called to the scene around 5 a.m. following reports of gunfire. There, they found Guiliani suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency medical personnel. The sudden violence sent shockwaves through the residential area, where neighbors described being startled awake by the sound of gunshots.
Detectives from the department’s Homicide Unit quickly assumed the investigation, working alongside the Evidence Collection Unit to gather forensic materials and canvass for witnesses. While authorities have not disclosed a possible motive, officials say the investigation leading to Ryan’s arrest involved multiple “investigative means.”
Ryan’s arrest was carried out without incident, though police have not provided details about where or how he was located. Officials also did not elaborate on what led detectives to identify him as the suspect.
Despite the arrest, investigators emphasize that the case remains open and are continuing to seek public assistance. “Even with charges filed, information from the community remains critical,” police said in a statement.
