CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. – On the evening of Thursday, March 14, 2024, the American Legion Posts in Calvert County came together to recognize the exceptional efforts of law enforcement, correctional, and communications personnel. The ceremony took place at the Stallings-Williams Post 206 in Chesapeake Beach, where honorees were celebrated for their professional achievement for going above and beyond the call of duty.

The event commenced with a warm welcome from Patricia McCoy, the Judge Advocate, followed by the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, an opening prayer, and presentations led by Commander Scott Deacon.

A moment of pride for Sheriff Ricky Cox and the entire Calvert County Sheriff’s Office as Corporal DeFelice not only received the prestigious ‘American Legion Law Officer of the Year’ for Calvert County but also clinched the ‘Regional Law Officer of the Year’ and ‘The Department of Maryland Law Officer of the Year’ accolades.
