HOLLYWOOD, Md. — A routine traffic stop in St. Mary’s County escalated into a confrontation involving an alleged vehicle pursuit, refusal to comply with police orders, and multiple reported assaults on law enforcement officers. The end result is the arrests of two Hollywood, Maryland, women now facing a combined total of more than a dozen criminal charges.

According to charging documents, on Dec. 26, 2025, at approximately 2:32 p.m., Maryland State Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Ford Fusion traveling westbound on MD Route 245 in Leonardtown after observing the vehicle allegedly fail to stop at a stop sign.

Police report that after troopers activated their emergency lights, the vehicle initially pulled onto the right shoulder and activated its hazard lights. However, officers then observed the vehicle make a U-turn, proceed eastbound on Route 245, and accelerate away, prompting troopers to believe the driver was fleeing and eluding law enforcement. The vehicle reportedly turned onto McIntosh Road, then made a right turn onto Satchel Paige Way, where it parked in front of a residence.

Police records state that a woman later identified as Dionna Jaleya Cutchember, 20, of Hollywood, allegedly exited the vehicle and attempted to enter the residence. Troopers exited their patrol vehicles and issued verbal commands for the woman to stop and remain outside. Authorities allege she did not comply and entered the home.

Troopers approached the residence and knocked on the door. Police report that Cutchember then used a Ring doorbell system to tell officers to leave. Troopers informed her that failure to exit could result in the vehicle being towed.

A registration check revealed the Ford Fusion was registered to another individual. A second vehicle at the residence was registered to Cutchember, according to police.

Court documents show that as additional officers arrived on scene, troopers continued attempting to communicate with Cutchember through the Ring doorbell system. Police allege she refused to exit and stated that the officers did not have their emergency lights activated. A second woman, later identified as Lakina Channelle Scriber, 47, of Hollywood, began communicating with police through the doorbell system, allegedly identifying herself as the homeowner and stating she was en route to the residence.

Authorities allege that when Scriber arrived and Cutchember opened the door, troopers attempted to place Cutchember under arrest. At that time, Scriber allegedly grabbed the door frame and physically blocked officers from entering the residence, body-checking law enforcement and attempting to force the door closed. Police were reportedly able to prevent the door from closing completely.

According to law enforcement, Cutchember actively resisted arrest by striking officers with her hands, kicking at troopers, and biting officers during the struggle. Police further allege that while being escorted from the residence, Cutchember spit on officers multiple times.

Police statements show that Scriber continued interfering with the arrest by grabbing and pulling officers, including holding onto Cutchember in an attempt to prevent police from escorting her to a patrol vehicle. Both women were eventually taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center.

Cutchember has been charged with:

  • Three counts of second-degree assault
  • Three counts of second-degree assault on law enforcement, parole/probation, fire, or emergency medical personnel
  • Resisting or interfering with arrest
  • Three counts of obstructing and hindering
  • Two counts of failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order
  • Disorderly conduct
