ย The Prince Georgeโ€™s County Police Departmentโ€™s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit, continuing their investigation into a motor vehicle accident in which eight people were killed on Indian Head Highway, has positively identified all eight of the victims.

ย The names of the victims are as follows:

ย Ervin Gardner, 39 and Daryl Wills, 38, of Prince Georgeโ€™s County, Maycol Lopez, 20, of Montgomery County, Otis Williams, 35, Milton Pinkney, 41, Blaine Briscoe, 49 and William Gaines, 61, of Charles County, and Mark Courtney, 33, of St. Maryโ€™s County.

ย The preliminary details are as follows:

ย At approximately 3 a.m., a group of people were standing in the area of Indian Head Highway at Pine Drive watching a street race when they were struck by a vehicle that was northbound on Indian Head Highway; the driver of the striking vehicle was not involved in the street race.

ย At least 14 people were struck – seven spectators were pronounced dead on the scene and an eighth person died at a local hospital.ย  The other victims were treated for injuries.
