Terence Nance in-person to screen and discuss his explosively creative debut feature film about his unrequited love affair with a beautiful young woman in “An Oversimplification of Her Beauty,” Dec. 1 at St. Mary’s College.

St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s eighth annual film series, “Hybrid Documentary: Enacting Actuality,” concludes with the screening of Terence Nance’s “”An Oversimplification of Her Beauty” (2012) on Dec. 1 at 8:15 p.m. in Cole Cinema, Campus Center. A breathtaking mix of live action and a range of animation styles, Nance’s film is, according to Richard Brody of The New Yorker, a “sharply intelligent, deeply vulnerable romantic comedy.” Nance will talk with the audience during a brief question and answer period immediately following the screening. The film series, presented by the Department of Theater, Film and Media Studies, is free and open to the public. St. Mary’s College is located at 18952 E. Fisher Road, St. Mary’s City, MD 20686.
