LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — At approximately 10:20 p.m. on Jan. 28, units were alerted to a fire within an unused portion of the Pax Inn, previously known as Motel 6, located at 21847 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park.

Bay District Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire with 15 volunteers and managed to control the fire within five minutes. There have been no injuries reported.

The damage was estimated to be $5,000, and the cause was ruled to be “incendiary.” The fire was determined to have originated within room 318, which was considered to be a condemned area of the motel’s property.
