
St. Leonard, MD – For the first time in over a decade it may prove to be a silent summer in the small town of St. Leonard.
The St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department (Company 7) announced Thursday afternoon, Feb. 18 on itโs Facebook page that it does not plan to seek and book big name acts for an outdoor concert this year. The post read:
โThe membership of SLVFD has decided to reevaluate the 2016 concert series. In doing so, we have decided to not actively pursue concerts for this upcoming season. Thank you for all your support and look forward to all your support in the future.โ
A call to a Company 7 member involved with the previous concerts had not been returned as this story was being filed.
Previous shows held at the fire company during the past few years have been headlined by such stars as Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, Foreigner, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Hootie and the Blowfish, Alabama, Sheryl Crow and The Charlie Daniels Band.
The St. Leonard shows are held at the Bayside Toyota Pavilion. Company 7 has hosted wounded veterans as special guests during the performances The past several years.
