Governor Martin O’Malley has ordered the Maryland State Flag flown at half staff immediately.
This is in memory of Mark Falkenhan, a firefighter with the Baltimore County Lutherville Volunteer Fire Company (Station 30), a part of the Baltimore County Fire Department, who died yesterday, Jan. 19 in the line of duty.
Flags should remain lowered until sunset on the day of his funeral. A notice will follow with that information as soon as arrangements are made. This action is taken under the Protocol for the United States and Maryland State Flag. Any questions on the above should be directed to the Office of the Secretary of State.ย
