Great Mills, MD — Itโs been a Southern Maryland holiday tradition for two decades. Every Christmas season thousands pack into their cars for a trip down Flat Iron Road in Great Mills to Flat Iron Farm and its Christmas Village and Light Display.
Some just take the ride around the farm gawking at its dazzling light display. The free ride-through is open every night from 5 to 9 p.m. through January 1st.
Others stop at the Christmas Village to visit with Santa, check out the Candy Cane House, interact with the animals in the petting zoo and view the manger scene, enjoy the train and tree display and stop by the Christmas Country Stores with handmade crafts and unique gifts available for purchase.
The Christmas Village is normally just open Thursdays through Sundays but also will be open this year on Christmas Eve.
The Christmas Village and Light Display is a way for local businessman Bubby Knott to give back to the community that has supported his businesses.
