On May 1, 2015, the Charles County Department of Social Services celebrated and thanked Resource Providers across the county for their continued service to children and adults.

Resource Providers are integral to the success of reducing the numbers of children in the foster care system. They continue to partner with community providers to advance the wellbeing of children who have been victims of abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Resource parents provide compassionate care focused on promoting healing, strengthening families and building relationships with birth families which in turn strengthens the larger community.

The Staff of the Charles County Department of Social Services, Commissioner Debra Davis from the Charles County Board of Commissioners, Judges Helen Harrington, Sherriff Troy Berry, Delegate C.T. Wilson, States Attorney Tony Covington, and other community providers were in attendance to celebrate the Resource Parents and their immeasurable service rendered to the children in foster care.

Charles County Department of Social Services is very grateful to the many Resource Providers who continue to help families address the complex nature of providing care to vulnerable children and adults. Their service to the community is invaluable. The Charles County Department of Social Services is proud to celebrate another year with its Resource Providers.

Community members who are interested in serving as Resource Providers are encouraged to contact Claudelle Clarke-Parchment, Recruiter &Trainer at the Department of Social Services at 301-392-6727.
