Gov Hogan has ordered the US and MD Flag flown at half-staff on Aug 16 in memory of U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant William J. Kundrat.
Staff Sergeant William Kundrat died last month in a plane crash in Mississippi, along with 15 other service members.
Staff Sgt. William Joseph Kundrat was 33.
A native of Frederick, Maryland, Kundrat was known to friends and family as Billy Joe.
His mother said he had an infectious smile and was in love with his wife, who was his high school sweetheart. The couple had two children.
