LA PLATA, Md. — La Plata Police arrested a Whoville man who calls himself “The Grinch” earlier today after he was found loitering near the town’s Christmas tree with a sack of stolen holiday items.

The suspect, dressed in a green suit and Santa hat, was taken into custody without incident. Police recovered ornaments, stockings, and a roast beast allegedly taken from a local residence.

The arrest caused no disruptions to the town’s Christmas Eve festivities, and officials assure Santa will have no issues tonight.

“Merry Christmas, La Plata,” said police, urging residents to stay festive and safe.

  1. OMG this menace has finally been caught! My sister Cindy Lou said she saw him taking our presents years ago but everyone thought she was just sleep walking again. He’s been stealing our family’s Roast Beast and Who Pudding for the last 45 years. Thank you for saving Christmas!
