PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – On August 27th at 10:30 am, the Calvert County Board of Commissioners is holding a hearing to entertain and discuss public comments about an ordinance proposal which is set to introduce a local business preference program.

For readers who don’t know, a local business preference program is an ordinance that grants local businesses an advantage when they bid for county contracts, even if their bids are higher than businesses based outside of Calvert County.

This ordinance will help businesses in Calvert County grow and offer opportunities for contracts that wouldn’t otherwise be available to them due to financial restraints.

If you’d like to attend the public hearing, it’s being held inside the Commissioners Hearing Room on the second floor of the Calvert County Circuit Courthouse. The address is 175 Main St. in Prince Frederick, Calvert County.

Anybody can attend, but you can also watch the hearing’s live stream from home by visiting the meetings webpage of Calvert County’s government website. To participate remotely, you can use the following information to dial into the hearing.
