UPDATE: Charles County and many other areas have canceled their severe thunderstorm watch, but some still remain in effect including St. Mary’s and Calvert County.

FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THOSE AREAS THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.

The heavy rain and flooding threat may linger into Friday for Southern Maryland. Damaging winds are expected to cause some trees and large branches to fall, potentially injuring people outdoors. Vehicles also may potentially be blocked by downed trees, and power outages are more likely.
