HOLLYWOOD, Md. — A Hollywood woman wanted on a felony CDS distribution case was charged again after deputies say a Suboxone strip was found during her arrest at Tractor Supply.
Shannon Janee Embry, 45, of Hollywood, was charged with CDS possession-not cannabis following the June 11, 2026, incident.
A St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded around 9 a.m. to Tractor Supply, located at 23788 Mervell Dean Road in Hollywood, to serve an active arrest warrant.
Court records show the warrant was issued June 8 in St. Mary’s County Circuit Court after a criminal indictment was filed charging Embry with CDS distribution-narcotics. The offense date listed in that case is Jan. 5, 2023.
Charging documents state Embry was taken into custody without incident.
During a search incident to arrest, deputies allegedly found a Suboxone strip on Embry. When asked whether she had a prescription for the Suboxone strip, Embry stated she did not, according to charging documents.
Embry was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center, where she was charged in the new CDS possession case.
Court records show Embry was released on recognizance in the possession case on June 11. In the circuit court case, a bail review hearing was reset June 12, and another bail review hearing is set for June 15 in St. Mary’s County Circuit Court.
A trial in the possession case is set for July 27 in St. Mary’s County District Court.

It’s not rare that I am disgusted by the actions of law enforcement. But this really turns the sentiment knob up to 11. For those of you that don’t know Suboxone is used to help opiate addicts get clean. It is potentially dangerous so that is why it has to be a controlled substance. This person was trying to do the right thing and got arrested for it.
