
NANJEMOY, Md. –ย Units led by Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Department responded to reports of shed fire, Feb. 14 at 6:15 a.m.
Crews arrived to the 9000 block of Adams Willett Road of Nanjemoy and discovered two detached 60 x 40 metal garages on fire. Firefighters had the blaze under control in one hour.ย
Shortly after 6:00 a.m., the homeowners, Mark and Heather McKeown report hearing what sounded like a gunshot. After investigating, they saw flames coming from the garage. Further investigation revealed that the fire was the result of an electrical malfunction in the refrigerator. The amount of damage caused by the fire is estimated to be $1.2 million.ย No one was displaced as the garages were away from the residence.
