PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Celebrate the season of renewal by opening your heart to a furry friend at the Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter’s Hoppy Tails Easter Adoption Event, happening April 15 through April 19, 2025. The spring-themed pet adoption event invites the Calvert County community to hop into pet parenthood with special adoption perks and seasonal surprises.

Held at the shelter located at 5055 Hallowing Point Road, the event will offer golden egg discounts for all qualified adopters. Shelter staff will randomly select pets whose adoption fees will be completely waived, offering a golden opportunity to bring home a new best friend at no cost.

All adopters will also receive a special Easter basket filled with candy treats and a gift bag for their newly adopted pet, a festive way to start their new journey together.

The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter will be open for adoptions from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15; Wednesday, April 16; Thursday, April 17; and Saturday, April 19. The shelter will be closed Friday, April 18, in observance of Easter.

Adoption fees help cover essential services provided by the shelter. Standard fees include $40 for cats, $75 for dogs, $10 for small animals and $15 for livestock.

Whether you are a first-time pet parent or adding another four-legged friend to your family, the shelter team is committed to making the adoption process smooth and joyful.
