UPDATE: Job fair has been moved to Feb. 17.
LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Job seekers from Maryland, Washington and Virginia will have the opportunity to meet with employers and explore career options at a job fair in Southern Maryland.
The Patuxent River Job Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum, located at 22156 Three Notch Road, Lexington Park.
Sponsored by JobZone and hosted at the museum next to Gate 1 of Naval Air Station Patuxent River, the fair is open to job seekers of all backgrounds. Participants are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes and to register in advance at jobzoneonline.com.
Organizers say the event will feature a wide range of employers and industries, with representatives on hand to discuss current job openings and hiring needs. Previous Patuxent River job fairs have drawn 25 to 35 employers and more than 200 job seekers, including civilians, transitioning military members and family members seeking positions across sectors such as defense, information technology, engineering and administration.
Among the employers expected to attend are national and regional organizations, including the Fleet & Family Support Center–Patuxent River, the Maryland Department of Labor and public safety agencies.
The Patuxent River Naval Air Museum, which preserves the history of naval aviation and hosts community events throughout the year, provides a central venue for the job fair.
