Earlier in his career, he served as the domestic relations master in Calvert County, as a deputy stateโ€™s attorney for Calvert County and in various positions with the Stateโ€™s Attorneyโ€™s Office for Prince Georgeโ€™s County. ย

Born in Washington, D.C., Wells attended Gonzaga College High School. He earned a bachelorโ€™s degree in government at the College of William and Mary, and a J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law. He worked as an associate for Oโ€™Malley, Miles, McCarthy & Harrell and McCarthy, Bacon, Costello & Stephens.

โ€œI am honored to be the keynote speaker at the college’s 54th Spring Commencement exercises,โ€ said Wells. โ€œHaving taught at the college for several years, it has been my experience that the graduates are well prepared to enter the job market or continue with their academic careers. It will be pleasure to see and address this year’s graduates as they embark on the next phase of their lives.โ€
