Julie Ann Taylor, 62, of Piney, Point, MD, formerly of La Plata, MD, passed away on October 20, 2025, in Callaway, MD. Born on February 7, 1963, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Nina Gressens and the late Jackie Howell. Julie is survived by her children, Zackary Taylor (Darion) of Fort Polk, LA, Zavier Taylor of Piney Point, MD, Kristan Thomas of Clements, MD, and Mallory Popielski (Brian) of Mechanicsville, MD, her brother, Christopher Gressens of Harwood, MD, six grandchildren, and one grandchild on the way. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Kenneth Gressens.
Julie graduated from Maurice J. McDonough High School in 1981. She was an administrative assistant for the U.S. Census Bureau for 24 years, retiring on September 30, 2025.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chris Whetlor officiating. Interment will be private.
