K-9 Assists with Vehicle Drug Bust

On April 10, at approximately 10:58 p.m., Trooper B. Sorenson was traveling southbound Route 301, north of Smallwood Drive when he observed the driver of a white Cadillac not restrained by a seat belt. 

Trooper Sorenson stopped the vehicle; made contact with the driver, Jason Dwayne Edwards, 29 of Waldorf and his passengers Nadine Mornisha Keemer, 29 of Lusby, and Michael David Hutchinson, 27 of Waldorf.  Corporal R. Cuyler and K-9 Atos, from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene to assist Trooper Sorenson.  A K-9 scan of the vehicle was conducted with a positive alert. 

All three occupants were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, CDS paraphernalia and possession with the intent to distribute.
