LEONARDTOWN, Md. — A new local bakery in downtown Leonardtown is taking steps to expand its offerings after town officials considered a request supporting a new beer and wine license at a recent Town Council meeting on April 13.
The request, submitted by Kneaded Baking Co. owner Kelly Davin, seeks approval for a Class B on- and off-sale restaurant license for the business’s new location at 22675 Washington St., Unit 102.
Kneaded Baking Co., known for its fresh pastries, coffee and welcoming atmosphere, is looking to enhance the customer experience by adding a curated selection of beer and wine to its menu. The proposed license would allow the bakery to serve alcoholic beverages on-site while also offering limited off-site sales.
In a letter addressed to the Commissioners of Leonardtown, Davin formally requested support for the license for a Class B on- and off-sale restaurant license.
If approved through the appropriate licensing channels, the expansion could position Kneaded Baking Co. as not just a daytime café, but a flexible space for casual meetups, small events and extended hours.
Next Steps
While the Town Council’s support is a key step, the license must still move through the county’s formal approval process before final authorization is granted.
For Davin and her team, the proposal represents a natural evolution of the brand — one rooted in community connection, now with an eye toward offering even more ways for customers to gather.
As Leonardtown continues to grow, small businesses like Kneaded Baking Co. remain at the center of that momentum, shaping the town’s character one thoughtful addition at a time.
