
INDIAN HEAD, Md. – On September 8 at 12:30 p.m., students at Matthew Henson Middle School notified a teacher of a student who was showing a knife to classmates. The knife was recovered and a school resource officer initiated an investigation.
At this time, there is no indication that a threat was made. In accordance with Maryland law, the student cannot be charged criminally due to their age, but does face disciplinary consequences from the CCPS.
Parents are urged to talk with their children about the dangers and consequences of bringing weapons to school. PFC Quigley is investigating.
