PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Lexington Park woman is facing drug and impaired driving charges following a traffic stop in Calvert County earlier this month.

Christina Renee Adams, 36, of Lexington Park, was charged with possession of a Schedule III opiate without a prescription, along with multiple traffic-related offenses including driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, negligent driving, failure to drive right of center, and driving on a suspended license.

According to court documents, the incident occurred on Feb. 7, 2026. A Calvert County sheriff’s deputy was patrolling northbound Route 4 near Prince Frederick when a motorist reported that a gray SUV ahead of her was driving erratically and veering off the roadway.

The deputy located the vehicle and observed it straddling the lane line and traveling near the road’s edge before initiating a traffic stop on Route 4 at Old Field Lane.

The driver was identified as Adams. The deputy reported detecting a strong odor of alcohol coming from her breath and person. Adams’ speech was described as slurred and her eyes as red and glassy. She told the deputy she had consumed alcohol shortly before being stopped.

Adams agreed to perform standardized field sobriety tests. Court records indicate deputies observed multiple signs of impairment during testing. A preliminary breath test registered a .10. She later refused a formal breath test.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies located an open alcoholic beverage behind the passenger seat. Authorities also found a prescription bottle labeled for Vyvanse in Adams’ purse. Inside the bottle, in addition to the prescribed medication, deputies allegedly discovered Buprenorphine, a Schedule III narcotic. According to charging documents, Adams was unable to provide a valid prescription for the Buprenorphine.

Adams was arrested and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center. She was released the same day after posting a $1,500 unsecured personal bond.

A trial is scheduled for March 11, 2026, in Calvert District Court.
