WALDORF, Md. — A man required to register as a sex offender is facing new charges in Charles County after investigators say he failed to report his current address, violating Maryland’s registration laws.
According to charging documents, Detective Cpl. N. Garner of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office filed charges against Anton Cortez Queen, 31, of Waldorf on Nov. 6, 2025, after officers were unable to confirm where he was living.
Queen was convicted in 2018 in St. Mary’s County Circuit Court of second-degree rape involving a 13-year-old victim. Upon release from incarceration, he was required to remain on Maryland’s lifetime sex offender registry and keep his address current at all times.
Detective Garner stated that Queen last completed a re-registration in September 2025, during which he confirmed his residence and acknowledged his duty to report any change in address. However, during a compliance check in late October, a man at the listed residence told investigators Queen had not lived there in months and was believed to be staying in Waldorf. Police were unable to verify a new address.
An arrest warrant was issued on Nov. 6, 2025, charging Queen with failure to notify or include an accurate address under Maryland’s Sex Offender Registry law (CP 11-721), a misdemeanor punishable by up to three years in jail or a $5,000 fine.
Court records show Queen was taken into custody the following day and held without bond. He remained detained after a bail review hearing on Nov. 10 before Judge Robert C. Wilcox.
A trial is scheduled for Dec. 26, 2025, in Charles County District Court.
