Leonardtown Lion Carolyn Weiler checks ‘Christmas Caring Tree’ at the Leonardtown True Value Store in a tradition started by her father Richard “Dick” Russell.
Leonardtown, MD — A tradition started by Leonardtown Lion Richard “Dick” Russell is continuing this year at the Leonardtown True Value store. The Christmas Caring Tree gives community members the opportunity to join the Leonardtown Lions in providing Christmas gifts for children of less fortunate families in St. Mary’s County.
Tags on the tree contain information as to the child’s age, sex, clothing sizes and suggested gift item.
Wrapped gifts will be delivered by the Leonardtown Lions Club the weekend before Christmas.
