CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. – On March 19, 2025, Deputy Brown initiated a traffic stop on Bayside Road in the area of the Fastop in Chesapeake Beach for an equipment violation.
Upon making contact with the driver Toney Robert Key Jr., 22 of King George, VA, Key advised Deputy Brown a firearm was inside the vehicle. A vehicle search revealed a loaded black AR-15-style rifle and a pill bottle containing suspected cocaine residue.
Key was placed into custody and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession-Not Cannabis, Loaded Handgun in a Vehicle, and Handgun in a Vehicle.
With those charges I hope they take a long hard long at the accused. If he has priors he should be held on NO BOND.
Hell in Virginia, Hampton Roads, they give a bond to felons already out on bond with a fta and multiple charges with records that consist of manufacturing, head of counterfeiting, running a meth lab, eluding, police, pwid, amongst multiple new charges and then, get this, cases were, smfh, withdrawn or nolle processed with no time and settled or just somehow managed to disappear off the court case online system. 🤔
