
Dementrous Von Smith andย Brian Anthony Williams, Jr.
Waldorf, MD— On Feb.10, the Charles County Shriff’s Officer J.Wilsonย conducted a traffic stop in a parking lot in the 3300 block of Western Parkway after observing the vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign.
After making contact with the driver, the officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
According to charging documents, “As the search of the vehicle began, I (Wilson) looked under the drivers seat, subsequently locating a Sig Sauer, Model P226, 9mm handgun which had a loaded magazine inserted in the grip, within the defendant’sย immediate reach.”
Also located under the drivers seat was “a large container. Inside the plastic container, severalย packages of glassine bags, some red in color and others larger in size were clear. A small black digital scale was located in an open storage area of the drivers door,” according to charging documents.
Dementrous Von Smith, 19 and Brian Anthony Williams Jr., 18, both of Waldorf, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a handgun.
Smith and Williams at this time do not have a scheduled court date. Both Smith and Williams face a maximum jail sentence of 65 years and or a maximum fine of $27,500.ย
