The Thanksgiving season is a time to enjoy good food, of course, but it’s also a good time to reflect on our neighbors who aren’t as fortunate. Between the recent government shutdown and the suspension of SNAP benefits, many in our communities may not be enjoying the same bountiful feasts they had last year. If you’re interested in helping out, you can find a food bank in your area at https://marylandfoodbanks.org/. Lots of charities and aid organizations here in Southern Maryland are accepting donations to make sure we all have a delicious Thanksgiving dinner to be thankful for.
