Male Shot In The Neck At Hollywood Plaza, Flown To Trauma Center

HOLLYWOOD, Md. – One person was shot in the neck in the early hours of March 9, 2024, at the Hollywood Plaza on the 24000 block of Three Notch Road.

The incident was reported to police at approximately 12:13 a.m. The 911 caller informed about the shooting and abruptly hung up the phone.

Maryland State Police, Trooper 7, was on standby at the airport hangar, ready for MEDEVAC operations.

Upon securing the scene, emergency services found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck. The victim was evaluated by EMS and transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s County Regional Airport. There, he was transferred to the Maryland State Police, Trooper 7, and airlifted to an area trauma center for treatment.

According to the Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, an altercation at the Hollywood Plaza led to the shooting. Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division have taken over the case. Currently, there are no descriptions of the suspect.
