On Monday, May 25, 2015 at 1:42 am, Trooper E. Krenik initiated a traffic stop on a black passenger car on Route 235 and Pegg Road for a minor traffic violation.
Trooper Krenik made contact with the driver, Divante Quintil Kyler, 23, of California, and detected the strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.
Trooper Krenik observed marijuana in plain view in the vehicle, and a probable cause search was conducted.
Trooper Krenik located multiple plastic baggies containing suspected marijuana, as well as CDS paraphernalia.
Mr. Kyler was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana Greater Than 10 Grams, Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, and traffic charges. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
