ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Visitors to Maryland’s state parks will soon use a new online system to book campsites, cabins and other amenities across the state.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources announced it will launch a modern reservations management system on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at 9 a.m., aimed at improving the user experience at 37 Maryland state park facilities.

The upgraded platform will allow visitors to reserve campsites, cabins and mini-cabins through a redesigned website featuring a cleaner interface, text message notifications and a simplified checkout process.

To prepare for the transition, reservations will be temporarily unavailable from Sunday, Feb. 15, through Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, while data is securely migrated to the new system.

Existing reservations will be carried over to the new platform. However, once the system goes live, users will need to create a new account at parkreservations.maryland.gov to access current bookings or make new reservations.

State officials said the upgrade is designed to provide a faster, more intuitive booking experience and enhance overall customer service for park visitors.

The Feb. 24 launch marks the first phase of a broader modernization effort. Additional features are expected to be introduced in the future to further streamline operations and improve the overall visitor experience.

Customer support will be available beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at 1-888-432-2267. The call center team will assist visitors with creating new accounts, locating existing reservations and answering general questions about the new system.

Reservations for campsites and cabins at Maryland state parks typically open six months in advance on a rolling daily basis. High-demand parks, including Assateague State Park and Deep Creek Lake State Park, can fill quickly for summer weekends and holidays, prompting officials to encourage visitors to plan ahead and reserve early when booking popular dates.

Visitors can learn more about the transition here. Reservations can be made at parkreservations.maryland.gov.
